Modern Foreign Languages

Modern Foreign Languages begin immediately in the Pre-Prep at Maldon Court.

French is introduced here and continued into Reception and Key Stage1. The language is learned through songs, games and ICT software. The computer suite is used as a language lab once a week and pupils learn through their listening skills and repetition.

By the time pupils reach Key Stage 2, they have a good basic grounding in this language and the National Primary Scheme is then introduced which advances pupils knowledge and understanding through a wide range of stimuli.  

Pupils from Form 3 are ready to learn a second language and Spanish is introduced.

The languages are timetabled on a termly basis.
