I.C.T
At Maldon Court School, we have invested heavily in Information and Communications Technology. All of the Key stage 2 classrooms are fitted with interactive whiteboards and all Key stage 1 classrooms have been fitted with them this year.
We have a state of the art purpose-built computer suite with 10 computers, together with printers and scanners and a comprehensive selection of software. There is also an interactive whiteboard in the ICT suite that is used by all pupils. This enables every child in the school to receive dedicated ICT tuition, thus facilitating high quality teaching and learning. ICT is often taken outside of the classroom where the children can use tough cams, digitals camera’s, roamers, bee- bots and other regularly updated state of the art equipment.

A comprehensive, challenging scheme of work from QCA (The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority) is in place to ensure that our children leave Maldon Court Preparatory School with all the essential ICT skills they will need to reach their full potential in secondary education and adult life. In our latest inspection report is was noted that:
‘The development of good information and communication technology (ICT) skills were observed in displays around the school.’’
ICT is very much taught cross curricular in all subjects.
Gifted and talented pupils also have the opportunity to attend an ICT day with children from other local primary schools. The most recent of these was a ‘Dragon’s Den’ theme. The children worked in small groups with children from the other schools and were asked to market a chocolate bar. The children used a variety of ICT equipment to do this including using video equipment and making a radio advert. The children ended the day by presenting their marketing campaign to a panel of ‘Dragons.’ A winning team was chosen and they each won an I-Pod Shuffle.
